Delete your account or data

How to ask us to delete your Zone account or data, and what we have to keep.

This page is for the Zone app and website, run by Zone Management Leicester Limited ("Zone" on Google Play and "Zone Student Living" on the App Store).

Email us to delete my account Delete only some of my data

How to ask

  1. Email bookings@thestudentzone.co.uk from the email address you use with Zone - the buttons above start the email for you.
  2. Use the subject Delete my account, or Delete my data if you'd like something removed (your photo, say) and to keep using the app.
  3. Tell us your name, and your building and studio if you have one.

We'll reply within one month, usually much sooner, to confirm what we've deleted and anything we have to keep.

If you're living with us now, your account stays open until your licence ends - it's how you pay rent, report repairs and get your digital key.

What we delete

  • Your Zone app sign-in and notification settings
  • Your photo and any repair photos you sent
  • Enquiries, website chats and unfinished bookings
  • Your marketing preferences - marketing stops straight away

What we have to keep

Some records must be kept by law or in case of a legal claim. We keep them only for this long and use them for nothing else.

Record How long we keep it
Licence agreement, account and payment records 6 years after your agreement ends
Guarantor agreements 6 years after the licence ends (12 if signed as a deed)
Copies of photo ID and right-to-rent results 1 year after your agreement ends
Referencing results 6 months after your agreement ends

Everything we collect and why is in our privacy policy.
